It’s been a big year for UniVersus. The popular collectible card game from UVS Games has put out a number of hit releases already this year, but they’ve just made a number of announcements about what’s on the horizon for 2024.
There’s a lot to look forward to from the UniVersus line-up, especially if you’re a Dungeons and Dragons player or an anime fan.
Here’s every UniVersusu CCG release that’s been announced for 2024 so far, organized by release month for easy reading. Some of them don’t have exact release dates yet, so we’ve made an estimate based on past releases.
January
Starting off strong, January is going to be an incredible month for anime fans who play UniVersus. There are two releases happening at the start of 2024, each paying homage to a hugely popular series.
Cowboy Bebop: Challenger Series
First things first, the Cowboy Bebop: Challenger Series will be dropping in most locations on January 19th next year. Cowboy Bebop is a series that focuses on interstellar bounty hunters, and it’s a hell of a lot of fun to watch.
If you’re unfamiliar, Challenger Series releases feature pre-made decks with accessible rulesets for playing. They often contain mechanically unique cards and they’re a great way to get into the game if you’ve never played it before.
We covered the Cowboy Bebop: Challenger Series in a recent post about UVS Games news and the artwork for the series looks incredible.
It’ll be exciting to see how the community reacts to these cards. Typically, a Challenger Series features primary and secondary characters from the series in question, so you can expect to see lots of interesting pieces.
Trigun Stampede: Challenger Series
Following that theme, the Trigun Stampede: Challenger Series will be coming out on the 19th of January as well.
If you’ve not heard of Trigun Stampede before, it’s a series that follows the story of a gunman called Vash the Stampede. He’s on the run with a 60 billion double dollar bounty.
As the name suggests, this release will have the exact same structure as the Cowboy Bebop: Challenger Series and the other Challenger Series releases that have come before it.
February
Currently, there’s only one release on the agenda for February next year. It’s not a Challenger Series release and it should be fun for both collectors and competitive players.
Yu Yu Hakusho: Dark Tournamnent
Coming out as the first new IP of 2024 for the UniVersus world, the Yu Yu Hakusho: Dark Tournament set looks incredible so far. It should be coming out on the 23rd of February, and it’ll be a Full Booster Series.
For those who’ve never heard of this IP, it’s a manga series by Yoshihiro Togashi which focuses on a character called Yusuke Urameshi and his journey as a Spirit Detective.
The set release will include Booster Packs and Booster Boxes, and fans will be able to take part in interesting release events on the day at participating stores. These release events will give them the chance to potentially win promo cards (some with victory stamps), playmats, and an invitation to the online Yu Yu Hakusho Wish Tournament, as well.
March
There are two Challenger Series releases taking place in March of 2024, and they’ll be a hit with the Dungeons and Dragons community. Both Challenger Series sets will be taking inspiration from the same source material.
Critical Role – Vox Machina and Mighty Nein: Challenger Series
One of the latest additions to the UniVersus world is Critical Role. This show features professional voice actors playing the tabletop RPG Dungeons and Dragons, and it’s spawned an incredibly loyal fanbase.
Two individual Challenger Series sets will be released in March for Critical Role, taking inspiration from two separate locations in Critical Role campaigns. They will be titled Vox Machina and Mighty Nein.
These sets will be dropping on the 21st of March next year, and they’re looking like must-haves for collectors who love fantasy-themed cards.
April
Currently, there are no releases lined up for April of next year when it comes to UniVersus and the wider UVS Games world. It’s possible that we could see some more releases announced closer to the time, though.
May
There’s only one release lined up for May 2024 at the time of writing, but it’s looking like an absolutely killer one so far. It’ll be a Full Booster Series, taking inspiration from one of the most popular manga/anime series around right now.
My Hero Academia: Girl Power
We’ve covered some My Hero Academia UniVersus topics before – in both articles and Instagram Reels – but this Full Booster Series is looking like it’ll be one of the best so far.
The Girl Power set is going to feature (unsurprisingly) an all-female cast with beloved characters from the franchise. There will be plenty of amazing alternate art cards up for grabs, and while we don’t have access to a full card list or product list yet, it’s safe to say that this release will be one to watch as a collector.
This Full Booster Series will be coming out on the 17th of May next year.
June
In a similar fashion to May, there’s only one release coming out in June. It’s a Challenger Series set release- and this is the one that the team at Sleeve No Card Behind are the most excited to be getting their hands on.
Godzilla: Challenger Series
The Godzilla: Challenger Series is looking like it’ll be one of the best CCG releases in 2024.
Featuring the iconic King of the Monsters, this release will actually be a duo of Challenger Series products. They’ll also feature other Kaiju from the wider Godzilla universe, and the official press release from UVS Games promises that these behemoth cards will have a huge impact on the wider competitive UniVersus scene.
This duo of Challenger Series items will be coming out on the 21st of June next year.
July
As with April, there isn’t currently anything on the agenda for July 2024 when it comes to new UniVersus Challenger Series or Booster Series releases.
August
If you liked the My Hero Academia: Girl Power announcement earlier on in the article, you’ll be happy to know that there’s a similar announcement for August- it’s just a little more vague.
My Hero Academia: Unconfirmed Products
In the official press release that we were sent, it was noted that additional My Hero Academia products will be launching in Q3 next year. If you’re unfamiliar with this concept, the third quarter (Q3) of the year usually refers to July, August, and September.
There was no confirmed release date available yet, and there was no official product list up for grabs either. We’re predicting that we’ll see these new MHA products around late July/early August based on the current release schedule, but it is possible that this will not be correct.
September
If you’re a fan of anime and UniVersus, September will be an exciting month for you next year. The information that we have about the September 2024 releases is as vague as the MHA products for August, but it’s still very exciting.
Attack On Titan: Battle For Humanity Full Booster Series
Firstly, there’s a new Full Booster Series on the way for Attack On Titan called Battle For Humanity. We spoke about this upcoming release a while ago, so it’s great to be able to share more information about it now.
The Full Booster Series should have a great variety of products up for grabs. Unfortunately, we don’t have access to a full product or card list right now.
As with the MHA release in August, the release date for AoT products is speculation on our part. The release window has been officially confirmed as being Q3, and it makes the most sense to our team that we’ll be seeing them between late August and mid September.
Attack on Titan: Challenger Series
Alongside Battle For Humanity, there will also be an Attack on Titan Challenger Series and Clash Deck release.
Much like the previous section, there isn’t much we know about the next AoT release. It’ll be releasing in Q3 – hence the suggested release window from us – but it’s not the last Attack on Titan release for 2024.
October
October is the final month of 2024 that doesn’t have any new UniVersus releases on the agenda.
November
November is set to follow in September’s footsteps with two fantastic Attack on Titan releases.
Unnamed Attack On Titan Booster Series and Challenger Series
Both with a projected release window of Q4 (meaning October, November, or December), the final Attack on Titan products of the year will be a Booster Series and a Challenger Series. Outside of this, we don’t have much to share other than our absolute excitement about what these cards might look like and how they’ll affect the UniVersus competitive scene.
December
Wrapping up the year with a bang, there is an unnamed sci-fi IP which is set to join the UniVersus world in December 2024.
It’s currently unknown what this IP might be or what the release will look like, but according to the official press release that we received, the partnership is sure to ‘blow everyone’s minds’ which is certainly promising.
2024 is looking like it’s going to be a supremely exciting year to be a TCG and CCG fan, and other franchises like Pokémon and Lorcana look like they’ll be putting out mega release schedules, too.
