Into The Inklands: New Lorcana Set Release Date

Lorcana Into The Inklands Product Photos Blurry Moana Background Cover

Lorcana hasn’t been around for long comparatively when you consider how old some trading card games are – looking at you, Pokémon – so it’s been wonderful to see it become such a cherished part of the TCG community so quickly.

Of course, it’s tied to a massive franchise which does help, but it’s fair to say that Lorcana has taken the trading card game community by storm. The combination of recognizable characters with the engaging playstyle has made it a hit.

If you’re a fan, you’ll be delighted to know that there’s another set release on the horizon. The next release for Lorcana has been announced officially and it’s dropping next year – here’s everything you need to know about it including the release date, the theme, and the initial product list.

Into The Inklands Drops In February Next Year

Firstly, this release will be following the split-launch model that Lorcana has been using with all its major releases. If you’re unfamiliar, this means that smaller stores and local hobby shops will get the products for release earlier than larger retailers.

This means that fans can expect to see Into The Inklands on the 23rd of February at their local stores, and they will be able to purchase it from larger retailers on the 8th of March.

It’s great to see big trading card game companies supporting local stores and community shops. Make sure to check out your local store for any pre-release events or pre-order bonuses. At the time of writing, there aren’t any pre-order slots available on any major retail stores online but this will likely change as we head into the New Year.

It Features Characters From Iconic Franchises

While this can be said for pretty much any Lorcana product, Into The Inklands is going to be a fan favorite set for Disney fans who like DuckTales, 101 Dalmatians, Peter Pan, TaleSpin, and Treasure Planet.

These iconic franchises are finally joining the game, and from what we’ve seen in the product reveal photos, the character artwork looks incredible. The characters and locations that have been confirmed as being included in the final set (either by product photo or official press release) include:

  • Kit Cloudkicker
  • Jim Hawkins
  • Motonui
  • Minnie Mouse
  • Piglet
  • Pluto
  • Scrooge McDuck
  • Perdita
  • Peter Pan
  • Stitch
  • The Jolly Roger
  • Maleficent’s Castle

This is only a snippet of what Into The Ducklands includes and we’ll be sure to update you once the official card list releases. It has been confirmed that this set will add a whopping 200 cards to the existing Disney Lorcana roster.

It’s already an exciting line-up and there’s a real spirit of adventure emanating from this set. Lorcana is one of the best trading card games out there when it comes to storytelling and world-building through cards, and Into The Inklands seems to continue this theme nicely.

There Will Be Lots Of Product Types Available

As with the card list, there has not been a full product list revealed yet. We’re still in the early stages of the official announcement, so the amount of information that we have about Into The Inklands is somewhat limited.

However, as seen in our cover photo, an official product photo has been revealed so we can at least confirm some of the products that Into The Inklands will contain.

The set should include:

  • Regular Booster Packs and possibly Booster Pack display boxes
  • Two playmats, one featuring a design from Moana and one featuring a design with Stitch
  • Deck boxes for easy storage and transportation
  • Single-player Starter Packs, featuring 2 different Ink types apiece
  • Themed card sleeves to keep cards in pristine condition

It’s likely that we’ll see some larger collectors items, too, and possibly some more options for the game accessories like deck boxes and card sleeves. These items are always handy to have, and the Lorcana team is great at picking fan favorite characters to feature on them.

There isn’t much else to note about Into The Inklands, but it’s looking like an incredibly exciting release so far. 2024 is looking to be a major year for most trading card games already- Pokémon is set to have a major one, too, and we’re still in 2023.

If you’d like to see us open some Booster Packs and review the set when it’s out, make sure to stay tuned on our Instagram page. We’ve just put up a handful of Rise of the Floodborn Booster Pack videos, and our team can’t wait to open up this set as well.
