More New Pokémon TCG Products Announced For 2024

Pokemon Product Photos Ex Battle Decks Paldean Fates Binders Blurred Background

We’ve not even made it to the end of the year yet and The Pokémon Company is spoiling us with new announcements. There’s a lot to look forward to already in 2024 as a Pokémon fan, and some new announcements have just joined the line-up.

There were quite a few reveals in a short amount of time, so we’ve condensed them all into one article here for you. Some of them are game accessories that will be coming out alongside Paldean Fates in January, and others are standout products that card collectors will want to add to their collection.

Here’s everything you need to know about the new Pokémon TCG products coming out next year, sorted by month for easy reading.

January

In our original post about the upcoming Pokémon TCG releases for 2024, we mainly looked at the upcoming Paldean Fates set for January. This exciting set is the English language counterpart to the Japanese language Shiny Treasure ex set that just came out in December.

Paldean Fates will focus heavily on Shiny Pokémon – and the artwork that’s been shown off for it already is simply incredible.

The latest product that’s just been announced for January is a set of gorgeous binders from the team at Ultra PRO.

This set of officially licensed merch should be coming out on the exact same day as Paldean Fates – which is the 26th of January in most locations.

This is a small but mighty collection with 2 card binders. One of them has 4-pocket pages and features Shiny Ceruledge and Tinkaton, and the other has 9-pocket pages with a design featuring Pikachu and Shiny Dondozo.

They’re not available to pre-order or buy on the Ultra PRO website yet at the time of writing but you can check out their full Pokémon collection here

February

In our recent post about upcoming 2024 releases, we mentioned how February seemed like it was going to be a slower month. Thankfully, we were wrong!

There’s plenty to get excited about in the trading card world in general – like the next Lorcana set – but Pokémon is set to have a particularly exciting month.

We wrote about the Combined Powers: Premium Collection recently, but several more products have just been announced by The Pokémon Company.

The first one is an ex box collection, featuring the beloved Mabosstiff. This Pokémon quickly became a fan favorite with the Scarlet and Violet games, so it’s lovely to see it getting recognition in the form of an ex box.

The Mabosstiff ex box features a number of interesting items, including:

  • A Mabosstiff ex card that was initially released as a GYM promo in Japanese Pokémon Center stores
  • An oversized Mabosstiff ex card with the same design
  • A foil card featuring Maschiff
  • A code card for Pokémon TCG Live
  • Four Booster Packs, which appear to be from the Paradox Rift set based on the official product photos that have been revealed

This product should be dropping on the 23rd of February next year in most locations. It should be a decently affordable product and it offers good value for money, so it’s worth picking up as a beginner Pokémon player or collector.

The other items that fans can expect to see in February next year are some brand new ex Battle Decks featuring Melmetal and Houndoom.

The Melmetal ex and Houndoom ex designs shown off in the product photos for these items are reprints from Obsidian Flames, but they still look fantastic.

There currently isn’t a full card list available for these decks, but fans can expect to find 60 cards in a pre-built deck format along with other essential items. These include:

  • A rule book
  • Reference cards and a strategy sheet
  • Damage counters
  • A paper playmat
  • A metallic coin
  • A deck box
  • A code for Pokémon  TCG Live

These will also be released on the 23rd of February.

The ex Battle Decks are ideal for new players who want to get into playing the game quickly, or for collectors who want to pad out their collection with a few key cards and accessories. It’s hard to say how viable the decks will be without a full card list but, generally, ex Battle Decks are decent enough to win a few rounds with. It’s worth customizing yours if you get one, though.

All in all, 2024 is set to be a killer year for Pokémon fans. Make sure to stay with us here and on social media, as we’ll be sure to keep you posted on the latest and greatest products, releases, and stories in the world of trading card games.
