Yu-Gi-Oh! has one of the most packed release schedules in the TCG world. There’s always something new to take a look at if you’re a Yu-Gi-Oh! fan, and 2023 has been an especially good year to be a collector.

It can be quite tricky to keep up with all the ongoing releases and upcoming launches as a fan, though, so to help you keep on top of things, we’ve put together a schedule post covering all the remaining TCG drops that will be coming out in 2023.

Here are all the remaining Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG launches that’ll be out this year.

Age of Overlord

Firstly, there’s an exciting core booster set coming out later this month called Age of Overlord. This booster is set to come out on the 20th of October in most locations, and it’s going to be legal for competitive play, too.

This set will include new takes on old favorites, such as the Supreme King Z-Arc which originally debuted in the Maximum Crisis set back in 2017. The Supreme King Z-Arc can now be going in a new Dragon-Fusion-Pendulum Monster form, making it an absolute powerhouse for competitive tournament play.

There are heaps of brand new Monsters in this set. The full set contains 101 cards, which are split up in the following way:

  • 10 Secret Rare cards
  • 10 Ultra Rare cards
  • 26 Super Rare cards
  • 50 Common cards

You’ll also be able to get 24 of the above cards as a Quarter Century Secret Rare card. One of the above cards can only be found as a Quarter Century Secret Rare, too.

OTS Tournament Pack 23

We weren’t sure whether to include this item or not as it’s not going to be for sale like a regular pack of Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, but it’s still going to be one of the most interesting launches this year.

If you’re unfamiliar with OTS Tournament Packs, they’re given to players as tournament prizes in competitive events at Konami Official Tournament Stores. They feature Ultimate Rare cards, and when the cards eventually make it to market, they sell for an absolute premium.

The OTS Tournament Pack 23 will be coming out on the 25th of October this year in most locations. There currently isn’t a card list or deck size estimate available, but one of the Ultimate Rare cards has been announced via the official Yu-Gi-Oh! site and it sounds incredible.

The confirmed Ultimate Rare is called Enemy Controller and it was first seen in the anime, then in the Ancient Sanctuary set back in 2004. This powerful card allows you to control an enemy monster or even change its battle position during a match. It’s incredibly powerful and opens up a lot of interesting potential strategies.

If you can get involved with an official tournament, it’s absolutely worth it. It’s a great way to meet other TCG fans and test your skills, and winning awesome cards like Enemy Controller definitely doesn’t hurt either.

25th Anniversary Rarity Collection

Dedicated Yu-Gi-Oh! fans will likely already have the 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection launch date marked on their calendars. This set will be coming out on the 2nd of November this year in most places and it’s a must-have for collectors.

This special booster pack is an all-foil set with 79 beautiful, fan-favorite cards. There are two new rarities in this set, making the list of available rarities look like this:

  • Super Rare cards
  • Ultra Rare cards
  • Secret Rare cards
  • Quarter Century Secret Rare cards
  • Platinum Secret Rare cards
  • Prismatic Collector’s Rare cards
  • Prismatic Ultimate Rare cards

The Platinum Secret Rares haven’t been seen since the Mega Tin release back in 2015. Both the Prismatic rarities were originally only available in Asia, with the Collector’s Rare being extra sparkly and shiny, and the Ultimate Rares having a unique, raised effect to them.

Along with some powerful competitive features (like The Primal Being and Effect Veiler) and some picks that were clearly put in for fans of the anime (like the Egyptian God Slime), this booster set is one to watch if you want to add extra value to your collection.

Valiant Smashers

The final booster pack for 2023 is Valiant Smashers, and it’ll be dropping in most locations on the 17th of November.

This is a smaller set, with 60 cards total and the potential for Collector’s Rares and Quarter Century Secret Rares, but it’s absolutely worth taking a look at.

With new themes, Monsters, and potential strategies, Valiant Smashers is looking like a must-have for competitive players. One of the stand-out cards that’ll be featured here is Tecuhtlica. It’s a brand new 5000 ATK, Level 11 boss Monster and it looks fantastic.

Fire Kings

The final release that Yu-Gi-Oh! Fans can look forward to this year is the Fire Kings Structure Deck. This will be coming out on the 8th of December in most locations.

The Fire Kings Structure Deck card list contains 48 cards overall, which are split up in terms of rarity in the following way:

  • 5 Ultra Rare cards
  • 3 Super Rare cards
  • 40 Common cards

There’ll be a good mix of new cards to enjoy in this deck, including brand new Monsters, Spells, and Trap cards themed around the Fire King High Avatar Garunix. The theming of this deck is exquisite and it’s sure to be a hit with both collectors and competitive players.

2023 has already been a fantastic year for Yu-Gi-Oh! fans and next year is looking incredible, too. Maze of Millennia and Phantom Nightmare are just around the corner, and they’re sure to shake up the competitive scene.
