It’s fair to say that 2023 has been an immense year for the Pokémon community – and it’s not over yet. Many of us will be opening our TCG advent calendars soon or checking out the Poké Post event to celebrate the festive season.

There’s already been some exciting announcements for next year, though, with new sets on the horizon and intriguing rumors about what we might be seeing in the franchise next. It can get a little confusing keeping track of all the stories and announcements this time of year, so we’ve gathered everything you need to know here.

Here are all the confirmed 2024 releases for the Pokémon TCG so far, along with the rumored releases. We’ve sorted it by month – there’s not been anything announced for April yet at the time of writing.

January

January is set to be a busy month for Pokémon fans. There has been a confirmed announcement for the English language Pokémon release schedule and plenty of speculation based on trademarks for the Japanese language release schedule.

Paldean Fates

If you’ve been keeping up with our recent posts, you’ll already know about the Paldean Fates set which will be coming out on the 26th of January in most locations.

This exciting set focuses on shiny Pokémon, just like the Japanese set Shiny Treasure ex, and it will contain over 240 cards. Over 100 of these cards will feature shiny Pokémon, and there will be 6 unique Hyper Rare cards to pick up as well.

The set release will include all of the usual products in the line-up, like Booster Packs, Elite Trainer Boxes, and Regular Tins. There will also be some more unique products up for grabs, like the Tech Sticker Collections which include Booster Packs and premium stickers that have been designed to go on items like laptops.

Paldean Fates should be an amazing start to the year. Even the set artwork (featuring Mimikyu) looks wicked, and it’ll be great to see a full card list.

Wild Force and Cyber Judge

Originally reported on by PokeGuardian, there should also be a Japanese dual set releasing on the 26th of January. Based on the names, it’s likely that these sets will revolve around the Pokémon Walking Wake and Iron Leaves respectively.

There isn’t much information available about these sets, but the names have definitely been trademarked which points to legitimacy. The timing also makes sense when looking at the Japanese Pokémon TCG release schedule.

It’s likely that we’ll see more Paradox Pokémon in this release.

Currently, there is no card list or product list available, but it’s likely that there won’t be any special or unique products in this dual set. It should just be a standard release with Boosters, Tins, and Mini Tins for the most part.

Starter Deck and Build Sets

Alongside the Wild Force and Cyber Judge release speculations, there have also been talks of new Starter Deck and Build Sets that should be coming out at the same time.

These sets should feature new designs for Koraidon and Miraidon, featuring the Ancient and Future categories and showcasing the titular Pokémon as ex cards.

Not much else is known about these potential sets right now, but from what we’ve heard so far, they seem like great products to pick up if you’re a new player or aspiring competitive player.

February

At the time of writing, nothing has been announced for February in terms of releases.

It’s likely that The Pokémon Company in Japan will do a February merchandise drop featuring fan favorite Pokémon. The December merchandise drop was only recently announced, and it included lots of popular Pokémon like Palafin.

These merchandise drops usually include playmats, deck sleeves, deck boxes, and other essential trading card game items.

March

We should be seeing both an English language set and a Japanese language set during March next year, both of which seem to be coming out at the same time.

Temporal Forces

English language Pokémon sets almost always take inspiration from the Japanese sets that have come before them, and based on what we know about Temporal Forces right now, the set should be taking inspiration from the Wild Force and Cyber Judge releases.

This means that we should be seeing plenty more Paradox Pokémon, along with a heavy focus on Walking Wake and Iron Leaves.

It’s possible that this may not be the case, though, and that Temporal Forces may actually include some cards from the upcoming Japanese set instead. There has not been a card list or product list revealed yet- not even the set logo is out.

The expected release date is the 22nd of March, with the pre-release window occurring from the 9th of March to the 17th of March.

Crimson Haze

The Japanese language set that we should be seeing on the 22nd of March is called Crimson Haze. This exciting set should apparently be based on the Teal Mask DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, meaning that new Pokémon should be featured.

The conversation about this set focuses heavily on Bloodmoon Ursaluna. It’s likely that the set will also include Pokémon like Sinistcha, Dipplin, and Ogerpon, amongst many others.

Again, no card list or product list is currently available. The official set logo has also not been released. Both Temporal Forces and Crimson Haze sound incredibly exciting, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated once more concrete information is available.
