Brand New Pokémon TCG Set Trademark Name Spotted

When The Pokémon Company is spotted filing a new trademark, it’s safe to assume that something fresh and exciting is on the way.

While there have already been a number of incredible official announcements this year (namely, the upcoming Cyber Judge/Wild Force and Crimson Haze sets), there still hasn’t been a complete 2024 release schedule announced. A brand new trademark has been spotted, though, pointing to an exciting new set and/or product release.

Here’s everything we know about Pokémon Stellar Miracle so far, including what the set might look like and when we can expect to see it.

Please note that the vast majority of this article is speculation on our part based on the usual Pokémon TCG release schedule – no official announcements have been made yet. We’ll be sure to update you all once something concrete is announced.

Stellar Miracle Will Likely Feature the Stellar Tera Type

Right off the bat, let’s get the obvious element out of the way. It’s likely that, if Stellar Miracle is a standard Pokémon TCG set, it will introduce the Stellar Tera type into the Pokémon trading card game for the first time.

If you missed it, The Indigo Disk DLC for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet introduced a brand new Tera type called Stellar. When a Pokémon transforms with the Stellar Tera type, it receives a 2x boost for its usual type and a 1.2x boost for every single other type out there.

It’s a very powerful Tera type and it’ll be intriguing to see how this translates to the Pokémon trading card game.

Some fans have theorized that it could be similar to the Crystal mechanic seen previously in e-Series sets, which would make sense. Crystal Pokémon are typically Colorless, but they have attacks which use 3 Energy types and the Poké-Body ability ‘Crystal Type’. This ability changes the Pokémon’s type for a turn based on the Energy card that is used.

Crystal Pokémon were a lot of fun to play with back in the day and the cards are still highly sought-after by collectors. While we don’t know much about what Stellar Tera type Pokémon could look like in the trading card game, it’s safe to assume that the mechanic will be a lot of fun and have a significant impact on the competitive scene.

Terapagos Could Be the Starring Pokémon

Following on from this, it’s likely that Terapagos will be the star of the show if Stellar Miracle turns out to be a standard set.

We’re basing this off of the story from The Indigo Disk DLC and Terapagos’s tie to the Stellar Tera type. The Pokémon is closely linked to the Terastal phenomenon and it would make sense to see it heavily featured – perhaps with some ex cards?

Terapagos themed TCG accessories would be amazing, too. The Pokémon Company always manages to release merch with fan-favorite Pokémon and Terapagos has been pretty popular since the launch of the DLC, so it seems likely.

We Could See This Set In Summer This Year

As we noted earlier, this whole article is speculation based on the name being trademarked, and The Pokémon Company’s previous behavior with trademarks and sets too.

If Stellar Miracle does turn out to be a standard TCG set, it’s likely that we’ll see it in the third quarter of 2024. The third quarter tends to mean July, August, and September, and based on previous release schedule timings, late July or early August seems reasonable.

Whatever comes of this, it’s bound to be exciting. The impact of the Pokémon video games on the trading card game (and vice versa) is always interesting, and The Indigo Disk has been going down well with the community so far. If the Stellar Tera type is introduced into the TCG, it could make for some fascinating decks.

For now, make sure to keep in touch with us on our official social media channels. We’ll be sure to keep you posted if there are any further updates on this story or if The Pokémon Company makes any official announcements. 2024 is looking like a very busy year for Pokémon fans so far and we can’t wait to get our hands on all the new sets coming our way.
