Cardova is Set to Disrupt the Trading Card Scene

Setting up shop in a scene like the trading card industry can be difficult.

By the time a collector is ready to sell some cards or use a vault service, they’ve usually got a favorite platform in mind already. It can be hard for new websites to convince collectors to take a leap and try something new.

If you’re a seasoned trading card fan, though, it’s worth considering one of the newest kids on the block- Cardova.

What is Cardova?

Coming from the experienced team at the Tokyo Trading Card Exchange Co., Ltd, Cardova is a new platform that aims to open up the Japanese trading card market to a wider audience. The site aims to highlight the growing trading card market in Japan and to provide a safe, reliable experience for both buyers and sellers online.

There are still some features of the site that are being worked on at the time of writing but currently, verified users can access the Cardova Vault services. If you’ve ever used a service like eBay’s Vault service, it’s similar to that.

The vault offers a consistent temperature of 20°C, monitoring to keep humidity levels below 50%, and constant surveillance to keep the cards safe.

In the immediate future, Cardova users will be able to take part in auctions from around the world. This is incredibly exciting for collectors who are looking to access cards that can only be obtained in Japan, and measures have been put in place to make these auctions as accessible as possible e.g. being able to switch the currency from yen to US dollars where needed.

It’s also been reported that the Cardova Vault will also be facilitating trade services this year, too. This feature should be launching in September, and it’ll make trading high-value cards with the Cardova platform safe, quick, and efficient.

There’s also a social aspect to Cardova, meaning that users will be able to chat with fellow creators and keep up to date with the latest in the trading world. It’ll be interesting to see whether the Cardova forums become a good source of new TCG news and rumors.

Being able to access a whole new market of trading cards and rare items is very exciting and it’ll be great to see where Cardova goes in the future. Removing location-based barriers is always a good thing when it comes to the trading card industry and the work from the team at Cardova is certainly a step in the right direction.
