There are already lots of exciting trading card game releases coming up in the new year – with the recent Paldean Fates announcement being one of them – and it’s already getting a little hard to keep track of them as a TCG fan.
One of the most anxiously awaited games on the horizon is Star Wars: Unlimited. This TCG looks like it’ll offer something for everyone when it comes out (on March 8th, if you missed it) and the product list for the first official expansion set is available now.
Here are all the products that Star Wars fans can look forward to next year.
All Star Wars: Unlimited Products
It’s important to note that all of the products listed below are for the first expansion set, Sparks of Rebellion. It’s incredibly likely that we’ll see more products in the official line-up as the game continues to release expansions and new cards.
Booster Packs
As you might expect from a modern trading card game, Booster Packs will be available right from the beginning of the Star Wars: Unlimited launch.
These Booster Packs will sell for $4.99 USD in most locations and they contain 16 cards. These cards will be a mix of Commons, Uncommons, at least one Rare/Legendary, a Leader, a Base, and a Foil, too.
Alongside this, there’s also a chance that Booster Packs will contain a unique variant of a regular card, too.
There will be Booster Pack Display Boxes available for purchase as well. These will be ideal for collectors who want to pad out their collections as quickly as possible, as they will contain 24 Booster Packs altogether.
Casual Play Kits
There’s a clear competitive circuit plan for Star Wars: Unlimited, but there’s also plenty of Casual Play events that will be taking place, too.
As a result, multiple Casual Play Kits will be available right from the get-go. It’s important to note that these will be available on a retailer level and have been designed for store managers who are looking to host events. These items include:
- Sparks of Rebellion Launch Kit. Launch Kits aim to get players straight into the game, making sure that everyone playing in a Launch Kit event has at least one base of every color. They work alongside the Prerelease Kits perfectly and contain extra Booster Packs which can be used as prizes for players.
- Weekly Play Kit. These Kits contain 3-card Promo Packs that can only be obtained via Weekly Play events. Weekly Play Kits work for up to 8 players in an 8 week tournament, and they feature a number of exciting, exclusive alternate art cards and Hyperspace rarity variant cards.
- Store Showdown Kit. These Kits will support massive 32-player Store Showdown events and contain a great variety of prizes for both winners and participants. There are alternate art cards, alongside additional Booster Packs.
The community aspect of Star Wars: Unlimited is looking like it’s going to be a lot of fun. Make sure to check out local events when the game releases.
Prerelease Boxes
Prerelease Boxes will be dropping before each Star Wars: Unlimited set, and they’re ideal for dedicated players who want to get a head start on the competition. They’ll be releasing a week before each set (this includes Sparks of Rebellion) and are worth picking up.
These kits include 6 Booster Packs, 2 promotional cards, a set of quickstart rules and a deck building guide, some damage counters, and a deck box.
Two Player Starter Kits
Two Player Starter Kits come with a set of 2 pre-built decks, each with 50 cards apiece. They also feature damage counters, 2 playmats, 2 deck boxes, and a quickstart rule set.
As with the other items listed in this article, there’s a variety of cards available in Two Player Starter Kits that are exclusive to this specific product type. This makes them an ideal purchase for collectors and completionists.
How to Pre-Order Star Wars: Unlimited Cards
Currently, there are some retailers and hobby shops who are accepting pre-orders for next year. It’s not every retailer, so do make sure to check out your favorite website regularly if they’re not accepting pre-orders right now.
Some trading card websites that already have pre-orders open include Magic Madhouse, 401 Games, and Dark Star Games.
Make sure to check out our official Instagram page if you’re interested in seeing some unboxings and reviews once the cards come out. The SNCB team is incredibly excited for this game to come out, and we’ll be sure to get unboxing videos up as quickly as possible.
