Big news today, as we get a glimpse of the UniVersus releases to come this year! UVS Games has announced its 2024 roadmap and it does not disappoint.
Multiple AoT Releases
If you’re like me, the first thing you’ll notice is three different Attack On Titan releases. AoT is one of the biggest animes of this generation, so it’s likely that UVS is going to lean heavily into this IP.
If I’m not mistaken, the four blocks on the top of the roadmap represent the main releases and we will see booster boxes for these. The lower blocks represent the Challenger Series which are pre-constructed decks that now each come with a single Collectors booster pack.
Godzilla
On June 21st we get our hands on the Godzilla Challenger Series. Actually, two of them!
Each Challenger Series will feature two different characters from the Monster universe. Godzilla teams up with Mothra and King Ghidorah teams up with Rodan.
Also, each Challenger Series gets its own Mechagodzilla character card. With Godzilla and Mothra we will get a Kiryu card, and the Ghidorah and Rodan Challenger Series will feature a Bionic Menace card.
These new Godzilla Challenger Series also introduce the new block print alt-art cards!
Star Trek
We also have a couple more announcements that aren’t shown on the roadmap. And one of them is Star Trek.
Star Trek: Lower Decks Challenger Series will feature characters from the animated series, Stark Trek: Lower Decks. This is a huge announcement for fans of the show. No release date was given, but it was implied to release in 2024.
We are getting another Star Trek release this year too! Star Trek Star Realms is a collaboration with Wise Wizards, the creator of the award-winning Star Realms game. There isn’t a lot of information on this release, but it is expected to hit shelves in Q3 this year.
Tekken 8
One final announcement from UVS: Tekken 8.
UVS is partnering with Bandai Namco Entertainment for an upcoming UniVersus product. Thats right, Tekken 8 will be joining UnivVersus! That’s all the information we have so far, so it’s quite early, but stay tuned.
