Top 7 Fattest Pikachu Cards

Thicc (yes, with two c’s) Pikachu is back by popular demand!

In 2021, Sword & Shield started an internet craze for fat Pikachu. We’ve seen larger Pikachus since the first generation base set, however, Pikachu VMAX takes the cake!

When you think of chubby Pikachus from the original Pokemon Expansions, you are probably thinking of the classic illlustrations as well. Sword & Shield took its VMAX art work to the next level, which means modern-day fat Pikchus are even more adorable than before!

What does that stamp mean?

If you’re curious about the Pikachu stamp, it just means the card you’re looking at is from Pokemon’s 25th Anniversary Celebrations Expansion. This stamp hasn’t changed the value for cards currently, but maybe as years pass it could increase the value of certain ones.

What better way to make a Pikachu fly than tying a bunch of balloons to it? this chubster is going for only $1.

6. Surfing Pikachu VMAX (009/025)

Need a vacation?

Maybe a Pikachu ride through the Caribbean will suffice.

Surfing Pikachu knows a high octane water Attack called Max Surfer. This Attack will also affect your opponent’s benched Pokemon. Sure, water and electricity don’t mix, but anything is possible with a stubborn and determined Pikachu.

This card is still affordable, and is a great addition to a binder or deck. If you weren’t able to pull this one from the Celebrations set, singles can be purchased for $1.

Pikachu VMAX is a whirlwind of vibrant colors and Pikachu joy. The whispy light trails combined with the water color style of the Pokemon itself is gorgeous. This card offers quick, brutal Attacks, and was a promo card in Sword & Shield.

This one is the last card under $3 on the list! You can find this promo for a buck!

Ah, the Trainer Gallery.

Trainer Gallery cards were quick to win over the Pokemon community. Through Pokemon games and TV shows, there are some nostalgic teams and Trainers we have all grown to love. Pokemon has brought some fan-favorites to the Trainer Gallery, and this is one of them! This card was originally found in the Lost Origin collection.

Ash may tick us off once in a while, but he has always been great to Pikachu. If you’re looking to score this iconic duo, it will cost you $37.

3. Pikachu (58/102)

There’s a lot going on with this one, and it’s hard to keep track!

This card has many versions. For example, some have red cheeks, some don’t, some might have shadows, and others don’t.

To sum it up, This Pikachu card is shadowless, (meaning there is no shadow under the illustration box) and yellow-cheeked. The illustrator drew this card with yellow cheeks to indicate the electricity pulsating through them. Employees were used to Pikachu having red cheeks, so they changed the color before printing. It was quickly changed back to yellow cheeks, meaning there are less red cheeked versions of this card out there.

This card caused a ton of confusion, but all these years later, each version is still chased. You can find this Pikachu for about $130. If you’re interested in a red-cheeked Pikachu card, you’ll be paying well over $200.

2. Pikachu (Topsun) (25)

Were these the first Pokemon Cards ever created?

There are many rumors about Topsun cards. They were actually introduced in packs of chewing gum! These cards are said to have been in the works since 1995, but were not released to the public until 1997. We may never know if any of these cards were printed prior to the OG cards in 1996. There is a possibility considering how many errors these cards have. some have numbers in the upper left hand corner, and others don’t.

These cards were inconsistent and temporary, but for any collector that means value. This one goes anywhere from $213 all the way to $1500 if it is Near Mint and Graded.

1. Pikachu (Topsun Prism Holo) (25)

One more form Topsun!

This card being a holofoil already makes it way more expensive than the last! We are loving the background with all of the Pokemon silhouettes sitting behind Pikachu. Out of the 150 Topsun cards, neither of these Pikachus are the most valuable from the set. They are still considered gold mines for any collector.

This Pikachu is going from $300 to nearly $7000 for a Mint and Graded copy!
