What We Know About the Shiny Treasure Pokémon TCG Set

Pokémon Shiny Treasure ex Boosters Black Background Camera Flare

The hits just keep on coming for Pokémon TCG fans this year. The year is starting to come to a close, but there’s still plenty of exciting releases and drops to look out for.

One set that’s been heavily discussed in recent months is the rumored shiny set dropping from The Pokémon Company in Japan. We’re happy to report that it’s no longer a rumor- Shiny Treasure ex has just officially been revealed.

To help keep you up to speed, here’s everything we know about the set right now, including card types and release dates.

The Set Will Be Coming Out This Year

First things first, this is a Japanese Pokémon TCG set. It won’t be released in other areas, like Europe or Canada, so international fans will need to make sure that they have access to a Japanese retailer if they want to get their hands on it.

The Shiny Treasure ex set will be released on the 1st of December this year in Japan.

Currently, the majority of online retailers do not have pre-orders open yet but make sure to keep an eye on your favorite stores and websites to see when they open up.

There Will Be Lots of Cards Available

It’s important to note that this is a particular type of Japanese set called a High Class set. This set type features almost exclusively holofoil cards, most of which are reprints, and they’re almost always only available in Japan.

There will be lots of Secret Rare cards available, and the number of these is currently unknown. The number of standard cards is known, however. Fans can expect to see around 190 regular cards in this set when it comes out.

It’s hard to say with certainty how many Secret Rare cards will be available, but it’s likely that it’ll be in the range of 50-90 Secret Rares based on previous High Class sets.

It’s possible that we’ll see the new cards from this set in future Scarlet & Violet sets towards the beginning of next year in English sets. This would be great, as the Shiny Treasure set will heavily feature Shiny Pokémon.

The Product List Hasn’t Been Announced Yet

Currently, it’s unknown what kinds of products and card quantities fans can expect to see for the Shiny Treasure ex set when it comes out.

There will be regular Booster packs, of course, but it’s possible that we could see some Booster boxes as well. It would make sense to see other items in the launch too that are geared towards collectors considering the time of year, but this is just speculation on our part.

The Booster packs should contain 10 cards in total. High Class sets usually have decent pull rates, so if you can get your hands on some packs, it’s absolutely worth it. It’s going to be very exciting to see this card when it comes out and we’ll be sure to film some pack openings when we can.
