Lorcana, Disney’s new trading card game has taken the card world by storm, but there are still a lot of questions about the new game. Many of us are opening packs for the first time but don’t know exactly what we’re looking at. It’s not always easy to tell which card is rare and which is not, so let’s dive into a simple rarity guide.
Where to find Lorcana rarity
You’ll find the card’s rarity symbol at the bottom center of each card. The symbol will be different depending on the rarity. The toymaker Ravensburger, who makes the Lorcana Card Game, has yet to confirm the rarity symbol’s exact definitions, but the community has widely accepted a basic hierarchy.
Rarity list
- Common
- Uncommon
- Rare
- Super Rare
- Legendary
- Enchanted
- Promotional*
*Promotional cards (promos) are not included in booster packs but instead included with other Lorcana products or sometimes given away at events or other promotions. Promo cards can sometimes be very rare, but they will always have a promo symbol in place of an actual rarity symbol.
Each Lorcana booster pack will contain 12 cards. Booster packs are designed to help players expand their library of cards to build new decks.
The rarity composition of a Lorcana booster pack is as follows:
- Common – 6
- Uncommon – 3
- Rare, Super Rare, or Legendary – 2
- Holofoil (any rarity) – 1
There is also a chance of pulling one of the extremely sought-after Enchanted cards from a booster pack, but the odds are very low.
What are Enchanted Lorcana cards?
The highest rarity Lorcana cards are called Enchanted cards, and they stand out from the rest due to their artwork covering the full cards, as well as their beautiful foil pattern.
The most recent release, The First Chapter, contains 12 different Enchanted cards, and you’ll notice that these are alternate artworks of various lower-rarity cards. This implies that Enchated cards have a collectability factor since they have lesser versions to actually be used in-game.
Both the Enchanted versions and regular versions can be found in Lorcana booster packs.
Final Thoughts
Lorcana is still very new and we’re excited to learn more. A lot of information has yet to be confirmed, such as the official rarity tier list, but everyone in the community has so far accepted the basic Common to Legendary understanding.
The chase cards of Lorcana will no doubt be the Enchanted cards, and it’s easy to see why. Good luck with your pulls and welcome to the hobby!
