Is the Pokémon Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle Worth It?

One of the best things about being a Pokémon card collector is that there’s always something new to look forward to. With Ruler of the Black Flame just entering the scene and plenty of seasonal launches coming up, it’s a wonderful time to be a fan of the game.

The Pokémon Company is always pretty good at getting collections out for holidays, and Halloween happens to be one of the most exciting holidays for collectors who enjoy picking up seasonal goodies, alongside Christmas with items like the Holiday Calendar

The Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle is set to release very shortly, and from what we know already, it’s looking amazing. Here’s a breakdown of whether the Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle is worth adding to your collection and what you can expect from the release as a whole.

This Bundle Launches in September

Firstly, the Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle is set to launch in September, giving you plenty of time to get your hands on it before spooky season officially begins.

More specifically, most regions can expect to see the cards on the 1st of September this year. Most popular Pokémon retailers have opened pre-orders for this product already and will likely start to ship them out in late August, so you can pre-order a BOOster Bundle from places like GameStop, 401 Games, or Magic Madhouse.

The Product Aims to Replace Halloween Candy

The main reason why this is one of the most unique Pokémon holiday products that you can get is that it aims to replace trick or treat candy. It’s an interesting alternative to giving out candy to neighborhood kids on Halloween, and the booster packs inside the bundle have been designed with this specific use in mind.

They’re not regular booster packs, although the cards that they contain are regular seasonal Pokémon cards. The booster packs contain only 3 cards each, and the bundle itself contains 50 of these booster packs.

This is an increase on last year’s Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle, which contained 40 booster packs with 3 cards each. This is a relatively new product for The Pokémon Company, but the 2022 iteration was met with a hugely positive reception, so it’s likely we’ll see it again.

The Card List is Unavailable (For Now)

At the time of writing, we don’t have a card list available for this product. It hasn’t been seen at any Pokémon TCG or collectable events and there haven’t been any noteworthy leaks relating to what’s inside the packs, so it’s hard to say with certainty whether the bundle is worth it based exclusively off of the card value.

That being said, we can make an educated guess based on last year’s card list

The most important thing to note about the 2022 Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle is that all the cards were reprints, with 10 of the cards being holographic. Every card had a special Pikachu pumpkin stamp, though, which adds some extra value.

This isn’t a bundle that will be an essential purchase for competitive players or collectors who like to make money off of their cards by any means. It is a must-have for collectors who love spooky themes and unique seasonal items, though. The theming of the set is fantastic and the bundle itself offers some great value for money.
