If you’re a fan of collecting Pokémon cards, you’ll be happy to know that the Pokémon company has just announced the final set for the year. It’s called Paradox Rift and it looks absolutely amazing, particularly for fans of Pokémon from the Scarlet and Violet games.
To help you stay on top of the latest developments, here’s a bite-sized summary of everything you need to know so far about the upcoming Paradox Rift set.
International Release Will Be in November
To start, the release date that is being discussed in the community right now is the 3rd of November this year. This means that we’re likely to see promo cards in late October, and pre-orders will open up before this date, too.
It’s not currently known whether there will be any pre-order bonuses, but this is a possibility. Lots of online trading card stores offer huge reward card or loyalty bonuses for pre-ordering sets from big franchises, so check out your favorite store’s website to see if they’re offering any.
The Set Includes Some Amazing Tera Pokémon
There haven’t been too many sneak peeks for this card set yet but the ones that we have seen look amazing. They’re sure to cause some waves in the competitive community, especially with players who are a fan of the Terastal phenomenon.
This set is going to feature some brilliant Tera Pokémon, including a water-type Garchomp EX card. There will also be two Starter Sets with a Tera Mewtwo EX and a Tera Skeledirge EX, which will be a great place to start your Paradox Rift collection.
The EX cards look exceptional, with a Gholdengo EX standing out as one of the best cards so far. It’ll be interesting to see the other EX cards from this set, as it’s believed that Paradox Rift will be pulling cards from the Japanese sets Ancient Roar and Future Flash.
We Might See Paradox Pokémon
This is more of a rumor than a confirmation right now, but it’s still worth noting. Fans are speculating that this set will include Paradox Pokémon alongside Tera Pokémon.
This is a rumor for two reasons. Firstly, the name of the set makes it incredibly likely that we’ll see Paradox Pokémon.
Secondly, the Japanese sets that Paradox Rift is thought to be pulling cards from feature Walking Wake and Iron Leaves heavily. If you’re unfamiliar, Walking Wake is a Paradox form of Suicune and Iron Leaves is a Paradox version of Virizion.
2023 has been an incredibly busy year for the Pokémon card community so far, with the Scarlet & Violet 151 set just around the corner, The Ruler of the Black Flame coming up, and Obsidian Flames on the horizon. This new set looks like a fantastic way to wrap up the year in style.
