While it may seem a little early to start thinking about the holiday season, if you’re someone who celebrates any holidays in the winter, you’ll know how quickly they can sneak up on you. It’s good to have a vague plan of what you want to buy before the time comes.
There’s a Pokémon Holiday Calendar almost every year now, usually coming out in the fall or early winter. The 2023 Holiday Calendar is coming out soon, and chances are if you’re a collector, you’ve been wondering whether to pick it up or not.
To help you decide whether the 2023 Pokémon Holiday Calendar is worth it or not, here’s a breakdown of what’s inside it. We don’t have a detailed card list yet, but some information about what to expect has started circulating in the community already.
Please note this article features mild spoilers about what the Holiday Calendar contains.
When Does the Pokemon Holiday Calendar Come Out?
The expected release date for this product is the 1st of September this year for most locations. This may vary from seller to seller. It may seem a little early for a holiday product but it’s not unusual for big brands to start their holiday merchandising efforts quite early on in the year.
You’ll be able to buy this holiday calendar from any official Pokémon vendor, although it’s likely that they will sell out fairly quickly. Most popular Pokémon sellers have pre-orders open right now, like GameStop or 401 Games.
What’s In the Holiday Calendar?
While some Holiday Calendars only have 12 doors to open, this Holiday Calendar has 25 doors with a variety of interesting gifts inside. It’s not just cards, either.
Inside the 2023 Pokémon Holiday Calendar, you will find:
- A sidekick Pokémon dangler/keychain with Pikachu and Glaceon
- A code for the Pokémon TCG Live game
- 2 Pokémon coins
- 2 festive Pokémon sticker sheets
- 5 booster packs
- 7 3-card fun packs
- 8 limited edition foil cards with a festive stamp
The price will be roughly 50 US dollars or 52 Canadian dollars, so considering the amount of unique items in the list, it’s fair to say that this Holiday Calendar is absolutely worth it.
The main value comes from the limited edition foil cards, as it’s unlikely that these will be ever seen in circulation again. It’s hard to say whether they’ll be useful for any competitive purposes but if you’re a collector who loves the holidays, this could be a great purchase for you.
The official card list has not been released yet but the artwork on the box and calendar itself looks fantastic and perfectly themed.
This is an exciting release that the community seems to be hyped for, almost as much as the upcoming Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle and Summer Collector’s Chest.
