Brand New Pokémon Scarlet & Violet TCG Merch Just Announced

September has already been an incredibly busy month for Pokémon TCG fans, with plenty of releases coming out for the Scarlet & Violet – 151 set and other important stories like the official Card Dex app being shut down for good.

It’s not just card releases and sunset apps to be aware of this month, though. The Pokémon Company’s latest TCG merchandise and collector’s items have just been revealed- and they look absolutely incredible.

The New Items Will Be Dropping In September

The major release date to watch out for this month if you’re looking to get cards is the 22nd, and this applies to folk looking to get merchandise as well.

In the majority of locations, you’ll be able to purchase all of the items referenced in this article on the 22nd of September. It’s worth looking at your favorite card store’s website now, though, as some places may have pre-orders open very shortly.

The official Pokémon Center website doesn’t have pre-orders open at the time of writing, but it’s possible that they could open them soon as well. 

The Items Heavily Feature Water Tera Garchomp

The star of the show with this launch is the Water Tera-type Garchomp. When this Pokémon was shown off in initial Raging Surf leaks, the community went wild for it, and The Pokémon Company seems to have noticed how popular it’s been. The card looks like it’s going to be very powerful in competitive play and the design is absolutely spectacular as well. 

In general, The Pokémon Company has been fantastic in recent months when it comes to noticing community favorites and which Pokémon to spend their time creating special products and releases for. It’s always good to see them listening to the community.

In this new merchandise line-up, you can expect to see the following items:

• Deck Sleeves. There will be premium 64-pack deck sleeves, with a set featuring Water Tera-type Garchomp, Gholdengo, Lightning-type Mewtwo, and Metal Tera-type Skeledirge.

• Deck Boxes. Deck Boxes also include 2 Deck Dividers. As with the Deck Sleeves, there will be one for Water Tera-type Garchomp. There will also be one for Lightning Tera-type Mewtwo and one for Metal Tera-type Skeledirge.

• Playmats. There is currently only one rubber playmat available, featuring Water Tera-type Garchomp.
• Flip Deck Boxes. A Flip Deck Box also includes 2 Deck Dividers. The only design that’s been announced for this product type currently is Gholdengo. 

As a whole, the quality of these products looks exceptional so far. The Raging Surf theme seems to be present in all of these upcoming items, and they look like they’ll make brilliant purchases for collectors looking to keep their cards in order. 

In particular, the Deck Sleeves look great. They’ve been announced with the name ‘Premium Matte Deck Sleeves’ and, judging from the pictures, they seem to have been made with a real attention to detail.
