Pokémon Japan TCG New December Product Photos Merch Line-Up Image

Are you excited for the holiday season? There’s a lot to get hyped about as a trading card game fan, especially if you’re interested in the Pokémon TCG. As we mentioned in our recent Poké Post article, The Pokémon Company is always pretty great at capitalizing on whatever seasonal event is kicking off at any given moment.

While some trading card games are wrapping up their releases for the year, Pokémon is still charging ahead. There are regular merchandise drops for the Pokémon TCG, with something new coming out for The Pokémon Company Japan almost every month, and the line-up for December’s merchandise drop has just been revealed.

There’s a number of amazing items – including some viable gift ideas for the Pokémon nerd in your life – and some important things to highlight about them, like release dates and interesting product types. Here’s everything you need to know about the December Pokémon TCG merch.

Everything Comes Out on the Shiny Treasure Release Date

Firstly, all of the items that we’ll be talking about in this article will be coming out on the exact same day as the Japanese Shiny Treasure ex set, making December a very busy month for Pokémon collectors.

If you’ve not heard about this set yet, Shiny Treasure ex is a gorgeous upcoming set that features (you guessed it) heaps of shiny Pokémon. This particular set is a Japanese one, as mentioned, but there’s an English language equivalent coming out in 2024.

The December merchandise – and the Shiny Treasure ex set – will be coming out in most locations on the 1st of December this year.

It’s likely that pre-orders will be open at your favorite store or on your favorite card site right now, so make sure to take a look if you’re planning to get your hands on any of the items. It’s likely they’ll sell out quickly thanks to the upcoming holiday season, so it’s worth pre-ordering if you have your heart set on a particular item.

There Are Heaps Of Gorgeous TCG Items to Pick From

Out of all the Japanese Pokémon merchandise releases we’ve seen this year, this is looking like one of the biggest ones so far. There’s a mountain of new products to pick from, some of which will be particularly interesting to competitive players and others which will appeal to collectors.

As mentioned, this is a Japanese release. If you’re a fan based in a different location who wants one of these items, you’ll need to make sure that you’ve got access to a trustworthy retailer or card store who can handle the shipping process for you.

The items that you can expect to see in this upcoming launch include:

  • Card Binders. Firstly, there’s a brilliant selection of card binders up for grabs that are worth picking up if you’re a collector who needs to sort their bulk cards out. These binders feature 9-card pages, and the designs feature a dynamic shot of both Ceruledge and Armarouge.

  • Card Carrying Cases. The card carrying case in this collection is sturdy and durable, making it perfect for tournament players who want to take their decks with them on the go. The design features Ceruledge and Armarouge again.

  • Deck Boxes. Deck boxes are a must-have for any TCG player, and the designs in this release feature Ceruledge and Armarouge, Shiny Tinkaton, and a special design called ‘Order Up’ which features a variety of Tatsugiri and Dondozo.

  • Deck Sleeves. As with any Pokémon merchandise release, there are plenty of deck sleeve designs to pick from. The designs in this release include Shiny Tinkaton, Order Up, Palafin, Shiny Kingambit, Iono (in a design called Iono Zone), Nemona, and a gorgeous piece called Connecting World.

  • Four Pocket Card Binders. If you’re a fan of unique card binders, this is a worthwhile pick-up. There’s only one design for this 80-card binder, with a stunning Palafin comic-style illustration, but it’s a great organizational piece.

  • Rubber Playmats. There’s a premium (yet plain) rubber playmat in this launch, and there’s also a more exciting one featuring the Order Up design. They’re high-quality and worth picking up if you’re a tournament player.

  • Premium Deck Sleeves. Premium deck sleeves have special textures and designs, and this particular set of deck sleeves comes in a premium matte format and features the fan-favorite Ceruledge and Armarouge again.

This is set to be an incredible launch, and there’s something to love here for everyone. Again, a lot of these are giftable- if you’re looking for a gift for a trading card game fan in your life, a set of deck sleeves or a new deck box might just be the ticket.
