It’s that time of year again, the McDonald’s Pokémon cards are back for 2023. In this article, we will cover the McDonald’s campaign extensively, talking about the collection as a whole, and each card individually. And yes, we will include a price guide so you know what each card costs.
Release Dates
The 2023 McDonald’s Collection is never released worldwide on the same day. Instead, the release is split up by country.
- USA- September 12, 2023
- Canada- October 31st, 2023
- UK- August 23, 2023
- Germany- July 27, 2023
- Austria- July 27, 2023
What you get with each Happy Meal
To get the cards, you must order a Happy Meal. Depending on the location, some McDonald’s restaurants may allow you to purchase the cards independently, but most of the time, a food purchase is mandatory.
Within each Happy Meal, you will find a small cardboard box with a booster pack and a toy inside. Each booster pack contains 4 cards, one of which is holo. The toy is a Match Battle spinner and cardboard coin, just like last year. The game corresponds to the cards and comes with a small instruction pamphlet.
The Setlist
Just like last year, we get a 15-card set. 6 of the 15 cards are holo.
- Sprigatito (holo)
- Fuecoco (holo)
- Quaxly (holo)
- Cetoddle
- Cetitan (holo)
- Pikachu (holo)
- Pawmi
- Kilowattrel
- Flittle
- Sandaconda
- Klawf (holo)
- Blissey
- Tandemaus
- Cyclizar
- Kirlia
For the first time ever, we are seeing holo borders on the 6 holo cards. This is exciting because we haven’t before seen the confetti holo pattern on borders. Most members of the community agree that it is a good look.
How much are the 2023 McDonald’s Pokémon cards worth?
Historically, the McDonald’s Pokémon cards are worth a lot more at the beginning of the campaign while they are still being rolled out. After a week or so, prices drop harshly because the supply has increased.
Last year we saw prices settle at about $20-30 for the complete set, just a few weeks after release. As a reminder, don’t go buy the cards right away! Wait a few days because prices will drop harshly.
As for individual cards, Pikachu is the only one that retains any value. Of course, the vintage cards from 2002-2006 are worth a lot now, but for the next few years, don’t expect any card other than Pikachu to sell for more than $1-2.
