Disney Lorcana has been a massive hit with the trading card community so far, and it’s barely been out for a month yet. The cards are high quality, the game is fun to play, and there’s plenty of different items for collectors to pick up as well.

One upcoming collectors item that’s stirring up some excitement in the community is the Disney Lorcana: Disney100 Edition, made to celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary and highlight the best of the best from the first two Lorcana sets.

It’s quite a pricey item, though, so it’s worth considering whether it’s a good value item or not. Here’s a breakdown of what’s inside the Disney Lorcana: Disney100 Edition, where to get it, and when to expect it to be available.

When Does the Disney100 Edition Come Out?

The second set for Disney Lorcana, Rise of the Floodborn, has just recently been announced. This set will be coming out on the 17th of November in most locations, with major retailers releasing it on December 1st, and the cards that have been shown off for it look incredible.

The Disney100 Edition will be coming out in most locations on exactly the same days as this new set, giving fans plenty of choice on what they’d like to buy.

At the time of writing, pre-orders for both the Disney100 Edition and Rise of the Floodborn are currently not available. It’s worth keeping an eye on your favorite stores and online shops, though, as pre-orders are likely to start rolling out in the next month or so.

What’s Inside The Set?

The Disney Lorcana: Disney100 Edition set will be available for roughly £50 GBP/$62 USD/$83 CAD in most locations, making it quite a pricey item.

One of the main things that you can find inside this set is 4 Rise of the Floodborn booster packs. This means that dedicated fans who can’t decide what to purchase on release day can pick up this set without feeling like they’re missing out on purely Rise of the Floodborn packs.

The other thing that you can find inside this collection is a set of unique, alternate art cards made by a variety of legendary Disney artists. The cards and artists are as follows:

  • Elsa – Gloves Off. From the Rise of the Floodborn set, created by artist Brittney Lee.
  • Genie – Powers Unleashed. From The First Chapter, made by artist Eric Goldberg.
  • Maleficent – Uninvited. From The First Chapter, created by artist Lorelay Bové.
  • Maui – Demigod. From The First Chapter, made by artist Bill Schwab.
  • Mickey Mouse – Friendly Face. From Rise of the Floodborn, made by artist Mark Henn.
  • Stitch – Abomination. From The First Chapter, drawn by artist Alex Kupershmidt.

These artists have worked on some incredibly famous Disney projects, which is where the value of this set really comes in.

For example, Brittney Lee was a visual development artist for Frozen, and Eric Goldberg was the lead animator for the Genie in Aladdin. Each artist has a truly unique understanding of their chosen character, adding a lot of dynamism and personality to the cards.

For the regular Lorcana fan, this set might not be the best purchase on release date. However, for the dedicated Disney fan who feels strongly about the films and animations, this set is truly special and is absolutely worth picking up when it comes out. It’s a real collectors piece, and the alternate art cards are sure to rise in value over time.
