Brand New Japanese Pokémon TCG Merch Announced For January

If you’re looking for new Pokémon card sleeves or playmats, you’re in luck. The latest batch of Pokémon TCG merch has just been announced by The Pokémon Company in Japan- and it all looks incredible so far.

Here’s everything we know about the latest bundle of Pokémon trading card game accessories coming out this month, including the exact release date and the product list. 

It Comes Out In Less Than Two Weeks

Firstly, this batch of new Pokémon items will be dropping on the 26th of January this year. 

This is a Japanese Pokémon TCG release, so if you’re not based in Japan but you want to get your hands on some of the items in this launch, you’ll need to find a trusted retailer to sort the shipping process out for you. 

These products will be dropping on exactly the same day as the Wild Force and Cyber Judge dual sets in Japan, so it’ll be a busy day for collectors and investors. Make sure to check out the websites for your favorite online card stores as quickly as possible, as there may be some pre-order slots open still.

There Are A Good Mix Of Items Available

While some Pokémon TCG launches can be centered around one Pokémon or character (like the upcoming Ultra PRO Greninja set), this January launch features a wide range of aesthetics, characters, and Pokémon.

The release list includes:

• 4-Pocket Binders. There is only one binder design in this launch, featuring Gengar, Haunter, and Gastly. It’s a 4-pocket design with 10 pages, meaning it can store 80 cards. 
• Card Boxes. There are two book-shaped card boxes in this launch, taking inspiration from the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet video games. One features Koraidon and one features Miraidon. The boxes have dividers inside them to make for easy storage and card protection.
• Deck Boxes. Multiple deck boxes are available in this launch, with designs featuring Koraidon, Miraidon, Gengar, and Bianca from Pokémon Black & White.
• Deck Sleeves. Multiple deck sleeve designs are available in this launch. The featured characters include Bianca and a dual design with Skitty and Litten.
• Playmats. There is only one playmat in this launch. It’s a premium rubber design featuring Bianca.
• Premium Gloss Deck Sleeves. Three different high-quality sets of premium gloss deck sleeves will be available in this launch, with the featured Pokémon including Koraidon, Miraidon, and Gengar. 
• Random Deck Sleeve Collection. Perhaps the most interesting item out of this line-up, this random collection will give you one mystery deck sleeve design out of a possible 10. The full list of designs isn’t available yet, but the featured Pokémon are thought to include Scream Tail, Walking Wake, Great Tusk, Iron Bonnet, and others.
