If you’re a fan of the Final Fantasy trading card game, you may have heard that there’s a brand new expansion coming out soon, along with some other key releases geared at collectors and dedicated fans.
The new expansion is called Hidden Hope- and from what we’ve seen so far, it looks incredible. There’s been an official preview from Square Enix, showing off everything from rare cards to new game mechanics.
To help keep you up to date, here’s everything you need to know about the new Final Fantasy TCG expansion, including release dates and confirmed cards.
It’s Coming Out In March Next Year
The release date that Square Enix has announced is March 22nd next year.
It’s important to note that the official preview mentions that this release date is just the ‘expected’ release date so there’s the potential for this to change. It’s worth keeping an eye on the official Final Fantasy TCG social media accounts for updates.
Currently, pre-orders are not available for this set. It’s likely that we’ll see pre-orders popping up around a month before the expansion comes out, so keep a lookout on your favorite card and hobby websites.
It’ll Be Launching Just After A Collector’s Item
There’s a launch occurring just before the Hidden Hope expansion that collectors and Final Fantasy fans are sure to be excited about.
The Final Fantasy TCG Anniversary Collection Set 2024 is set to release on February 16th next year, and it looks incredible so far. The set comes in a gorgeous box that doubles as a collection storage chest, and it contains a carefully curated mix of 253 cards. These cards include both re-issued fan favorites and new PR cards.
If you’re a dedicated Final Fantasy fan, the start of 2024 is going to be a busy period for you. Both the Anniversary Collection Set and the Hidden Hope cards are worth picking up for your collection, and they could steadily climb in value.
This Set Will Introduce A New Game System
One of the most interesting things about the Hidden Hope release is that it will introduce a new system to the game.
Hidden Hope will introduce the Limit Break system. This new addition to the game allows players to incorporate cards from other sets into their deck, increasing the variety of strategies that players have access to in competitive play.
The Release Includes Some Legacy Cards
Something else that stands out in the Hidden Hope announcement is the inclusion of some truly beautiful legacy cards.
These legacy cards are full-art foil versions of popular legendary cards. In this set, you’ll find legacy versions of the cards Fat Chocobo (4-064L), Chaos (16-129L), and Sephiroth (18-116L). Interestingly, these cards are tournament-friendly and can be used in competitive play.
All in all, 2024 is set to be an exciting year for FFTCG fans. If the new expansion and the Anniversary Collection Set sound exciting to you, make sure to mark your calendars for a few weeks before launch so you can hunt for pre-orders.
