Everything You Need to Know About Lorcana Chapter Two

It’s fair to say that Disney Lorcana has made waves in the trading card community so far- and with good reason. This new TCG has incredible artwork and a very high level of quality, and it was made for a fanbase that is known to be very dedicated.
Luckily for these dedicated fans, a second chapter for Lorcana is already off the drawing table and on the way into stores. To help you keep tabs on this upcoming launch, here’s everything we know so far about Lorcana: The Second Chapter.
It Will Follow the Split Launch Model
As with the first Lorcana launch, the overall release for The Second Chapter will take place in two stages. It will be split between local card stores/hobby shops and larger retailers, in order to shine a light on smaller stores and any local tournaments.
The launch date for local stores will be November 17th for most locations and the larger store release date will be the 1st of December. It’s likely that the cards will sell out sooner on the second launch date as it’s closer to the holidays for a lot of people and some of the confirmed items are very giftable.
The split launch model is a great idea on paper and it’s wonderful to see Lorcana actively supporting smaller stores. If you’re hoping to purchase cards and other items from a larger retailer, make sure to check out their official websites as we’re sure to see pre-order pages going live in the next few weeks.
The Card List Hasn’t Been Announced Yet
There hasn’t been an official card list released for the second Lorcana launch yet. In fact, the majority of the information we have on The Second Chapter originally came from a French retailer Ludivers who appears to have uploaded product listings quite early.
Ravensburger quickly confirmed the information with ComicBook.com, providing a little more information for excited fans.
Currently, the products that we know about include:
- Boosters (Multiple pack sizes, including a 24 pack of boosters)
- Deck boxes
- Playmats
- The Illumineer’s Trove
- Starter card decks
It appears that the second Lorcana launch will be the same size as the first, which means there will be a great variety of cards and collectables to choose from. Interestingly, The Illumineer’s Trove appears to be an item that collectors can pick up with every chapter. There may even be another gift set or two available as well.
There have been a few confirmed characters for the second launch, too.
Fans can expect to see cards featuring Winnie the Pooh, Mulan, Belle, and Sisu. There isn’t much more information available yet about the cards and what sort of artwork we can expect, but the confirmed characters have already been received well by fans.
The First Chapter Reprint Will Follow Soon After This Launch
According to the official Disney Lorcana Twitter account, a huge reprint of the first Lorcana launch will be taking place in early 2024.
This reprint will be starting off in Europe and Northern America.
The reprint is taking place to cope with the huge demand for Lorcana cards. It’s currently uncertain whether there will be anything to distinguish the reprinted cards from the original cards, but this could cause a price spike for original cards.
It’ll be interesting to see how Lorcana handles this and whether there’s as much of a demand for the reprinted cards. The Lorcana TCG has been incredibly well received so far in the TCG community and it’s sure to get even more popular with this second release.
