Digimon TCG 2023 Product Photos Shadow Releases Cover

It’s been a busy year for trading card game fans from all franchises, but Digimon fans in particular have had a lot to keep up with. The Digimon team has kept fans around the world on their toes with consistent releases and updates, and they’re not done yet.

There’s still a lot to look forward to as a Digimon fan, both in terms of English set releases and Japanese set releases. It can be hard to know what’s coming up next, though, especially if you collect cards in both languages.

To help you keep on top of upcoming Digimon TCG releases, here are all the remaining releases for November and December in 2023. There will possibly be some other releases that we don’t mention, like game accessories or add-ons, but we’re focusing on main sets and packs.

Please note- there are some mild spoilers about which Digimon and which abilities are featured in some of the upcoming sets.

November

November is set to be quite a busy month for Digimon fans. There are heaps of new product types coming out, featuring plenty of beloved characters and legendary Digimon, along with some seriously cool alternate art pieces.

November 12th

First things first, there’s a brand new Japanese language Limited Pack coming out on the 12th of December. This Limited Pack is called Limited Card Pack Deathxmon (LM-02) and from what we’ve seen, it looks fantastic.

There are 33 cards overall in this set, including 10 Common, 12 Uncommon, 5 Rare, 5 Super Rare, and 1 Secret Rare. The artwork looks stunning, and it’s a worthwhile pick-up for both collectors and competitive players.

November 17th

Coming up quickly after this, there are several releases happening on the 17th of November. Some of them are quite giftable, so they’re worth picking up as a holiday present if you’ve got any Digimon TCG fans in your life that you need to shop for.

There’s a new set coming up on the 17th of November this year called Blast Ace which is sure to shake up the competitive Digimon TCG scene.

Firstly, some iconic Digimon from the Digimon Adventure TV anime are featured in Blast Ace as Ultimate ACE cards. These Digimon are MetalGreymon, Zudomon, MagnaAngemon, and Lilymon, and there are some ridiculously cool Ultimate ACE alt art cards available, too.

It’s not just Digimon from this series that you can expect to see, either. Characters from Digimon Adventure TV are featured too, like Tai Kamiya, Joe Kido, Mimi Tachikawa, and T.K. Takaishi, along with plenty of others.

Along with these interesting features, there are new gameplay elements, too. For example, a new keyword effect called Mind Link can be found throughout the packs. This effect links eligible Digimon and Tamers together, allowing players to effectively extend their turn. This new keyword effect is bound to have a massive impact in competitive play.

With a slew of exclusive cards and alternate art pieces to pick up, along with fan-favorite 3 year anniversary survey packs in booster boxes, what’s not to get excited about? There are plenty of different product types to pick up, too, including:

  • Booster Packs. These packs contain 12 cards each.
  • Booster Boxes. Booster Boxes are a great item to pick-up as a collector, as they contain 24 Booster Packs, and there are some intriguing promo cards thrown into the mix as well.
  • Double Pack Sets. This is a brand new product type. It’s a dual pack format, containing 2 Booster Packs and some exclusive promo cards, too.
  • Gift Boxes. This item is the perfect pick-up for the holiday season. It offers great value for money, including game accessories like damage counters alongside 4 Booster Packs and 4 promo cards.

Blast Ace is looking like it’s going to be a hell of a lot of fun. The artwork is exceptional and the new mechanics should provide a lot for competitive players to get stuck into.

December

There aren’t many things taking place in the world of Digimon in December this year, but there’s lots coming up straight after in January next year. Make sure to keep an eye on official Digimon TCG social media channels for consistent updates.

December 22nd

Currently, the only Digimon release that’s lined up for December this year is the Japanese Booster Pack for the BT-16 Beginning Observer set. This set is rumored to be dropping in other locations and in English as well in 2024, likely around March if our sources are correct.

Not much is known about the BT-16 Beginning Observer Boosters yet, but they are available for pre-orders on some websites already. They’re listed on the official Digimon TCG site, too, with information about pull rates and card types, but no card list has been revealed yet.

In this Booster set, fans can expect to see 107 cards. These cards are broken up into the following categories/card rarities:

  • 40 Common cards
  • 26 Uncommon cards
  • 22 Rare cards
  • 12 Super Rare cards
  • 4 SP cards
  • 3 Secret Rare cards

There are also 22 Parallel Rares up for grabs in this set.

It’ll be exciting to see what the artwork looks like for this set and how the community reacts to it. The Booster Pack art is stunning, so there’s bound to be some killer cards to pick up in the set.

All in all, there’s still heaps to look forward to as a Digimon fan in 2023. Make sure to keep an eye on your favorite store for pre-release/pre-order bonuses, and check out our official Instagram for pack openings, too.
